BLESSING IN DISGUISE

                                                              Blessing in Disguise

Let’s not discuss the COVID-19 particularly , Let’s not curse the year 2020 , Let’s not talk about the way the Governments are tackling it , Let’s put it all aside , Let’s take a moment to reflect the impacts of this current situation on ourselves, our lives. Not even a single soul on this planet is left unaffected by the heat and smoke of the spreading fire of present circumstances. Everybody, YOU and ME both, is struggling, struggling really hard to get through it anyhow. The increasing ratio of deaths and diseases. The snowballing of absolute poverty all round the world. The irrevocable loss in economy. Is this all, being swayed by the COVID-19? (*inserts the outward-facing V sign*) The fundamental aspect we are missing out here is, our MENTAL HEALTH. Since the day virus landed in our lives, it’s constantly mortifying our mental health really bad. Helplessness, Hopelessness, Hollowness. These three H’s are a major load to our sanity these days. In these hard times, our major goal should be to keep ourselves together physically as well as mentally. And we need to be strong and show courage in the face of adversity. NOTHING IS WORTH IT, IF IT COSTS YOU YOUR MENTAL HEALTH. We hear, share, repeat many mental health quotations daily but do we really care about our psychological state? This is the perfect time to care and improve our healthy minds. There’s so much going on around us that it’s easy to fly off the handle but DON’T. Let’s forget, for a time, the ways the Corona Virus manipulated us. Let’s overlook the wrecking it gave us. Let’s leave everything negative behind us for a bit. Be POSITIVE and make use of this time on the right lines.
Charles R. Swindle, the author of The Grace Awakening said: “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.”
Hope is the only thing stronger than the fear. How privileged are so many of us that during this pandemic , we can stay warm and safe at home , spend time reading , creating , working , talking to our loved ones with little worries.
We are living in a moment that will reverberate in the annals of world history. It will continue to be resurrected in novels, poetry, memoirs, and cinematic productions. Far into the future, grandparents will tell its stories to their grandchildren with a memory that will surely play its tricks. This crisis will also provide new dimensions to conspiracy theories, mixing facts with fantasy. Meanwhile, we have the challenge of dealing with its relentless spread against the backdrop of apocalyptic visions now sweeping across the First World, with the United States leading in the world in confirmed coronavirus cases.
Use the lockdown period to be physically and mentally stronger. This is also the time to be responsible and stay home. This week spare some time to send love and hope to those who are being directly affected by the pandemic. In the rush to return back to normal, use this time to consider which parts of normal are worth rushing back to. Ever wondered once all of it is over you might never be able to get this calm back , the pause is rare to happen yet again once the play button hits on! You get to go back in that rush, hustling and grinding! We might never experience this sense of stillness back again, so I’d rather we let loose while it lasts! Take this phase to look deeper, reflect back, play around, develop healthy habits, let that kid inside scream and rejoice! Focus on all that’s surrounding you, connect with nature and breathe. Not partially but use the moment to feel fully alive! It’s a blessing in disguise, a gift of time!

REALITY CHECK: This is not a holiday and can hit anyone of us at any time. If you are lucky enough to live with the loved ones, hold them tight. A great form of meditation is to hug for 2 minutes, breathe and smile. If you do not live with loved ones look forward to the day you will hug them again and smile it will bring.

Effects of Rainfall

Rain is termed as a blessing of Allah Almighty. Quran says that it is the Divine power to bring winds soaked in water, which causes rain, a source and sign of life on earth. If we start counting the benefits of rain, we will exhaust our energy but will fail to encompass the positive impacts of rain. However, I have listed a few benefits below : Agriculture :                          Agriculture is the sector most benefited by rainfall. The agriculture produce is irrigated by rain, and the farmers are saved from spending money on artificial irrigation systems such as tube-wells and canals and many more in this modern world. The effects of rainfall on agriculture are manifold as the pest and insects are also killed by rain. Due to rain the underground water level also rises, which makes the water readily and easily available.      2. Detoxification :          ...

Into the Abyss with the Dangers that Haunt Pakistani Journalists in the Pursuit of Truth

Pakistan, where the pen should be mightier than the sword, is at a crossroads as the once-vibrant press faces unprecedented dangers. A rise in physical assaults on journalists, combined with worrisome legislative maneuverings, portrays a troubling picture. Let us now look at the specific difficulties that have put a shadow over the Fourth Estate. The Brave Are Bruised - Physical Assaults on Journalists The 2021 brazen attack on journalist Asad Ali Toor in his own house is not an isolated occurrence, but rather a sign of a larger problem. Unidentified thugs, allegedly linked to security forces, attacked Toor with ferocity, sending shockwaves across the journalistic community. This is not just an attack on people; it is an attack on the entire core of a free press. Government Complicity - A Silent Menace While the perpetrators may be nameless shadows, the participation of the governmental apparatus in silencing dissent is a concerning fact. From financial pressure to social media ha...
